Visualizing (Originally posted to Twitwall on Nov. 19, 2008)

While writing this, listening to the ongoing presentation through elluminate re: @learntrends. Getting 11.00 p.m. in my time zone. Need to get up early. Assisting in a short project - my present whole could be described as combining the necessary and the necessary unnecessary...

My #cck08 learning phases have kept including two opposite poles. One note I made today was through an outcome of this incredible week of possibilities to virtually participate / follow seminars - in this case Ground Handling International Conference in Dublin: "STRATEGY IN A SHORT TERM BUSINESS: GHI has undertaken a special study on strategy in the ground handling business. Do short term contracts constrain strategic planning and hinder business development? The University of Bath School of Management will conduct this study and present the findings. Dr Glenn Parry, Senior Research Fellow, University of Bath School of Management ."

The above thought starts to gather my current mixed thoughts on learning (read connective learning). GH (subcontractors for the airline industry) business is one strong example of the need for - not only a change in thinking but also creation of a new competence of getting the results of the thinking in practice. This is what connectivism - and presentations of #learntrends - and other selected conferences as well - is all about.

Yesterday's #learntrends presentation by Tony Karrer - the elluminate chat during the presentation - helped me gather an interesting selection of links to Diigo re. visualization, thank you very much @NancyWhite :).

The elluminate session just ending further visualizes - showing two pictures rising a lot of thoughts to reflect further: the Hierarchy - Wirearchy and Cynefin decision making framework (pic cc url):
